Wade Woods has been involved in the Western Addition Community Organization (WACO). WACO sued HUD and a case that went all the way to the Supreme Court won the case which established the right of citizen participation in the Redevelopment process.

He was one of the leaders in the development of the Victorian Square Complex, at Sutter and Fillmore Streets. Which when first completed the Victorian Square Complex was 100% owned and operated by African Americans.
